The South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles Skills (Road) test is administered by a certified
driving instructor in Safe Driving School SCDMV approved vehicles only.

Applicant must have a current, valid beginner's permit held for at least 180 days.
•
Behind the Wheel Charleston does NOT accept walk-in students for the road test - appointments are required.
•
Road tests are conducted as scheduled however, the Behind the Wheel Charleston road test evaluator reserves the right to cancel any scheduled test due to severe weather or unsafe conditions.
Per SC DMV regulations:
•
A parent or legal guardian MUST sign required paperwork for all students under age 18
•
The student must have their current, valid permit on hand at the test
